Copper Etched Gratitude Journal

Saturday September 11th, 2010  Noon-6pm

Spend a fun afternoon with Christi creating your very own 3"x4" gratitude journal with copper etched covers.

In this class students will show you how to prepare copper plates for etching.  Students will etch their copper book covers using stamped images and will then apply patinas to them.  While we are waiting for our covers to etch and patina...students will create the pages for their gratitude journals.  Distress pads, rubber stamps, tags, stencils, and watercolor paper will be used to create beautiful one-of-a-kind pages.  Once our journals have been assembled, we will use Tim Holtz ephemera to bling up the covers.  Class fee is $50 and includes all supplies.  If you have a favorite stamp image you would like to etch on your 3"H x 4"W cover, please bring it to class.  Students may opt to bring a snack or sack lunch.

Includes ALL supplies  Level:  All levels of experience

In this class we are going to breathe new life into the stockpile of old and fogotten jewelry in your vanity drawer.  I love going to Fleam Markets, Garage & Estate Sales to find vintage jewelry.  What may seem like "junk" to one person, is a new item in my masterpiece.  Students will learn how to re-construct a piece that is outdated and turn it into a hip and trendy piece just like you see in all the fashion magazines.  We will also discuss ways to clean your items to bring them back to life-you'll be amazed at how an old piece can look brand new again.  Bring items that you've collected that you feel are old, outdated and worn, and we'll transform them into a dazzling new piece!  If you don't have any items to bring-don't worry.  Lori will bring items that you can choose from.  And she will also provide some essential elements for re-constructing your piece into something amazing.
